08 Nov Success Isn’t An Accident
Most people think that success is accidental or it’s about lucky breaks. And sometimes it is. But, success throughout life is not an accident. It’s an intentional choice you make every single day.
A lot of us tend to go through life making unintentional choices. We try to just get through the day. We’re not intentional with how we show up. Because of that, we lack opportunity and progress toward our goals.
If we want to get somewhere, we have to be intentional.
You don’t just get in your car, start driving and expect to land somewhere specific. You pull out the map, plug the address into the GPS on your phone, and set a course with intentionality to get you there as quickly as possible.
The same applies to anything you’re pursuing in life. You need to wake up every day and ask yourself:
- What will I do with my time today?
- How will I be intentional with what I’m focusing on?
- What are my actions?
- Are those actions intentionally moving me toward my goal or just getting me through the day?
Unless we wake up and adopt the attitude of consistently showing up, competing, and being intentional with our time, focus, and action, we will not become successful.
Hope is not a strategy for success. Intentionality, great choices, and actions every day are.
Be honest with yourself today. It doesn’t matter what you did yesterday, last week, last month, or last year. You can’t change that. What you can change is how you show up today.
Are you going to be intentional with how you use your time today? If you are, where is it on your calendar? Are your priorities listed? Have you outlined what actions you are going to intentionally take today?
You cannot win without intention. Stop making excuses like, “I’m busy” or “I just need to get through this season.” Instead, ask yourself, “What am I doing today to be intentional to become who I want to be and get where I want to go?”
Then identify the action steps, lock in your focus, and get to work. Don’t waste the opportunity of today, Competitor, because you’re never going to get it back.
Success is not an accident, it’s a product of intentional choices.
